Junior high English is designed to be an introduction to formal writing with heavy emphasis on grammar. Literature is also incorporated into the curriculum. Students are also responsible for weekly vocabulary and spelling quizzes. Students are expected to read 250 pages outside of the classroom each quarter.

2. Grammar and Composition II, 5th ed.; Abeka Press
3. Vocabulary, Spelling, and Poetry II, 5th ed.; Abeka Press
Grading Weights:
Homework: 40%
Tests/quizzes: 30%
Vocabulary: 20%
Reading Project: 10%
